France and Canada will face off on Thursday at 13:00 GMT in Łódź, both seeking a place in the quarter-finals of the U20 Women's World Cup.

This is the third consecutive meeting between France and Canada. In the previous two editions of the U20 Women's World Cup, they had already crossed paths in the group stage. In their first encounter in 2022, the French team won (3 – 1), while two years later, the two teams drew (3 – 3).

This year, they meet for the first time in the knockout stage. France comes in with an impressive group stage, boasting a perfect record. Leading their group, the French rely on strong team cohesion and a set-piece strategy that has garnered attention following their victory against Ghana.

Canada has also shown promise in the group stage. Slightly edged out by England on fair play points, the Canadian team has an attacking unit capable of making a difference. Their forward Annabelle Chukwu could be the key to a potential Canadian success.
