FIFA has revealed the most spectacular goal of the U20 Women's World Cup. Benin's Romaine Gandonou earned this honor with her free kick against Poland.

Benin dreamed. Benin believed, but the young Amazons were eliminated in the group stage during their first appearance at the U20 Women's World Cup finals. However, Benin can take pride in its gem, Romaine Gandonou. In their third group match, Benin faced Poland. Trailing 0-4, the U20 Amazons earned a free kick in the 88th minute, just outside the penalty area. Romaine Gandonou took the shot and managed to beat Polish goalkeeper Hanna Wiczerzak.

This moment of brilliance was rewarded. Subjected to a public vote among other strikes, Romaine Gandonou's free kick was voted the best goal of the tournament.

“My dream is to become the top scorer of this World Cup,” she stated after her first match. Although she did not win the golden boot, the Beninese forward can be proud of having etched her name in the history of the U20 Women's World Cup.
