Wadi Degla has backed out of the idea of signing Aleksandar Lafferty due to the terms of the deal.
Wadi Degla officials have halted negotiations with French coach Alexandre Laffite to take charge of the team in the upcoming period after failing to reach an agreement on some contract terms.
In recent days, discussions took place between Wadi Degla management and the French coach, who was a candidate to replace the current coaching staff. However, disagreements over certain clauses in the agreement prevented the deal from being finalized, despite negotiations advancing to a significant stage.
About Laffite
Alexandre Laffite is 29 years old and began his coaching career at a young age, taking charge of Stade Abidjan in Ivory Coast. He successfully led the team to win the Ivorian league title in the 2024-2025 season, after making a notable impact in African football.
The French coach also had a stint with Marumo Gallants in South Africa, where he participated in 24 matches across various competitions, achieving 6 wins, 6 draws, and 12 losses before leaving the team in March 2026.
Laffite previously worked in the youth sector at Paris Saint-Germain, in addition to other coaching experiences in France, making him one of the names Wadi Degla management considered for a potential contract before negotiations stalled due to the failure to reach an agreement on contract terms.
