Wael Riad reveals the youth national team's squad to face Libya in the North African qualifiers.
The coaching staff of the Egyptian U-20 national team, led by Wael Riad, has announced the starting lineup for their match against Libya in the first round of the North African qualifiers (UNAF) for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, set to take place in Ghana next year.
The Egyptian U-20 team, born in 2007 and coached by Wael Riad, will kick off their North African U-20 qualifying campaign against Libya at 8 PM today, Thursday, in an exciting match hosted at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia.
The lineup is as follows:
Goalkeeper: Omar Abdel Aziz.
Defenders: Mohamed Awad, Nour Ashraf, Iyad Medhat, and Mohannad Al-Shami.
The match between Egypt and Libya will start at 8 PM today, Thursday, September 24, 2026, and it has been decided to broadcast the match on the free-to-air ON Sport network. After this match, the team will face three important fixtures against Tunisia on September 30, Morocco on October 3, and will conclude the competition with a match against Algeria on October 6.

The North African U-20 qualifiers feature five teams: host nation Egypt, along with Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya. Only the top two teams will qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 in Ghana.
