Yasser Idris Praises Abdel Rahman Younes' Achievements
Idris expressed his admiration for the exceptional performance delivered by Younes, who managed to break the world record and win two golds in the clean and jerk and total, along with a silver in the snatch. This represents a new achievement added to the history of Egyptian champions and highlights the ability of Egypt's athletes to compete with the world's best and secure top positions.
Idris's congratulations were not limited to the champion who achieved the accomplishment but also extended to the system that supported this success. He congratulated Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, President of the Egyptian Weightlifting Federation, its board members, and the coaching staff led by expert Alaa Hassan Kamel and Captain Mohamed Hosni, in appreciation of their continuous efforts in preparing champions and creating achievements.
Idris confirmed that what has been achieved is the result of years of work, planning, and follow-up, praising the role played by the Egyptian weightlifting family in restoring the sport's status on the global stage and continuing to produce champions capable of representing Egypt in line with its Olympic history.
Idris's initiative to offer congratulations and celebrate the achievement reflects a deeper meaning of his role as President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee; the responsibility of sports leadership does not stop at a particular sport or federation, nor is it limited to specific champions, but encompasses everyone who represents Egypt's name on international platforms and achieves accomplishments worthy of support and celebration.
From the weightlifting platforms to the arenas of Olympic competition, nurturing champions, supporting federations, and celebrating their achievements remain an essential part of the Olympic leadership's responsibility, as embodied in Yasser Idris's congratulations to champion Abdel Rahman Younes and the Egyptian weightlifting family.
