Zamalek delays the contract extension for Ben Taleb.

Officials at Egyptian club Zamalek have postponed their decision regarding the renewal of Moroccan international Mahmoud Ben Taïk's contract, the team's left-back, despite a desire within the club to keep the player in the near future.

A source indicated that Ben Taïk joined Zamalek in the summer of 2024, coming from French club Saint-Étienne on a one-year loan, before the club decided to activate the option to buy his contract permanently in March 2025 for one million euros, signing a new contract that extends for three years, ending in the summer of 2028.

The same source mentioned that the total value of Ben Taïk's contract with Zamalek amounts to approximately 1.65 million dollars throughout the contract period, clarifying that the club indeed intends to extend the player's contract; however, this matter is not a priority at the moment.

Zamalek's management is currently focusing on finalizing contracts for players whose ties with the club end at the end of the current season; after which, the final stance on Ben Taïk's situation will be determined based on the technical vision and the team's needs.
