The French football federation plans to honor Didier Deschamps’ tenure as the manager of Les Bleus. Philippe Diallo, the president of the FFF, mentioned this during an interview with Ouest France.
Didier Deschamps’ journey as the head coach of the French national team concluded at the end of the 2026 World Cup. Since then, the former captain has maintained a relatively low profile. Recently, however, he has returned to the forefront of discussions. In France, it was during a conversation between the FFF president and the media outlet Ouest France that his name came up. When asked about a possible tribute ceremony for the coach with the longest tenure at the helm of Les Bleus, Philippe Diallo confirmed that it was a possibility. Nevertheless, the executive was somewhat vague regarding the likely timeframe.
“I hope so. We need to find the right opportunity to do it. Considering the schedule, we should think about 2027 to celebrate him as he deserves,” Diallo suggested.
France is set to face Turkey on November 15 in Bordeaux.
