Ampem Darkoa secures the final qualifying spot for the CAF Women's Champions League. The Ghanaian club overcomes Edo Queens to join the other seven teams.
This marks the conclusion of a dramatic saga. Following the UFOA B qualifying tournament in Ouagadougou, Nigeria's Edo Queens had triumphed in the final via penalty shootout. The Ghanaian side appealed to the CAF over a referee’s mistake. The official had sent both teams straight to penalties instead of allowing extra time as stipulated by the rules. The confederation sided with the Queens and ordered a resumption of the match from extra time.
A turnaround occurred during this resumption, with Afishata Mohamed securing the qualification for the Ampem Darkoa Ladies. They will join Group B, where they will face AS FAR, USFAS, and Kawempe Muslim Ladies. The CAF Women's Champions League is set to take place from November 1 to 15.
