GFA set to stage the 2026 Elite U-17 Girls Colts Championship in Prampram
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to organize the 2026 Elite U-17 Girls Colts Championship from July 30 to August 4 at the GFA Technical Centre in Prampram. This six-day event is part of the Association's initiative to discover and nurture the upcoming generation of female football talent throughout the nation. The championship aligns with the GFA's Women's Football Strategy and FIFA's Talent Development Scheme, both designed to bolster grassroots football and establish a clear pathway for young athletes to advance in their careers. The tournament will see some of the nation's most promising U-17 female footballers compete, providing them with an opportunity to perform at a high level while displaying their skills. Additionally, the event will act as a vital talent identification platform, with coaches and scouts on hand to evaluate players who may have the chance to join Ghana's national youth teams. This initiative underscores the GFA's ongoing dedication to promoting women's football and offering young girls the chance to hone their talents and pursue professional opportunities in the sport. The Elite U-17 Girls Colts Championship is anticipated to further enhance the talent pipeline for Ghana's youth national teams, including the Black Maidens.
