Individual sought in connection with the murder of his family in the UK has admitted to firearm charges in South Africa.

A man sought by authorities in the U.K. for the murders of his spouse and two daughters entered a guilty plea on Tuesday regarding firearms charges in South Africa, where he was apprehended in July while evading capture.

Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma's admissions of guilt to illegal firearm possession and unlawful ammunition possession were part of an agreement with South African prosecutors. He also acknowledged an immigration violation for entering South Africa as a fugitive.

Authorities in South Africa intend to pursue his extradition to the United Kingdom upon the completion of his local legal proceedings. Prosecutors in the U.K. have indicated that he will face three murder charges.

Tshuma's wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, along with their daughters, Natalie, age 15, and Nala, age 5, were discovered deceased at their residence near Bedford, north of London, on July 6. Each victim had sustained head trauma.

British investigators believe Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma departed the U.K. on July 4, traveled to Zimbabwe, and subsequently arrived in South Africa prior to the discovery of the bodies.

Tshuma, identified as a British citizen of Zimbabwean ancestry, was arrested in Johannesburg on July 10 while carrying a firearm and ammunition after Interpol issued a notice for his capture.

South African law enforcement authorities suspect he intended to use the firearm to take his own life.
