In a discussion with BOYLE Sports, Yorke expressed that their remarkable consistency, durability, and substantial influence on the game at both club and individual levels establish a benchmark that no other player can match.
While he dismissed a direct comparison with the two icons, Yorke recognized Mbappé’s legacy as a player in tournaments, commending his significant influence and accomplishments on the global stage.
“I believe Kylian Mbappé will ultimately fall short of equaling Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the greatest of all time, but I think he will be remembered as the finest player in the history of the World Cup.
“There’s a distinction there. He may not be the greatest player of all time, but he will surely be among the top five. To be recognized as the all-time great, he would need to consistently reach the latter stages of the Champions League each year and claim victory, secure all the Ballon d’Or awards, and accomplish all of this in the next four years at a minimum to be considered on the path to being the greatest of all time.

“However, he has undoubtedly dazzled at the World Cup with his extraordinary skills and agility, along with his creativity and intelligence, which are truly exceptional as well.”

Mbappé’s exquisite performances have been characterized by his lethal finishing and unparalleled composure during the knockout stages.
