The Maiduguri side showcased a solid defensive performance to maintain their narrow lead throughout the match, thwarting Ikorodu City’s efforts to find an equalizer.

This win also earned El-Kanemi Warriors a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, where they will represent Nigeria alongside Shooting Stars.

For Ikorodu City, it was a devastating end to an otherwise commendable season.

The Lagos-based team had just missed out on a continental spot on the final day of the Nigeria Premier Football League season and were aiming to secure qualification by winning the Federation Cup.
