The first team players of Zamalek who played a significant role in the recent match against Abou Qir Fertilizers in the Egyptian Premier League underwent recovery training during Thursday's session, held at the auxiliary pitch of the Air Defense Stadium, in preparation for their encounter with Djibouti's AS Port in the second leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Zamalek Prepares Substitutes Physically Ahead of AS Port Clash
The coaching staff, led by Moataz Gamal, opted to subject this group to recovery training to avoid fatigue before the anticipated match against the Djiboutian champions.
The coaching staff of Zamalek's first football team, under the guidance of Moataz Gamal, also allocated a segment of intensive physical training for the substitute players and those excluded from the recent match against Abou Qir Fertilizers during Thursday's training session, held at the auxiliary pitch of the Air Defense Stadium, in preparation for the match against AS Port.
Portuguese fitness coach Nuno Costa Ribeiro supervised this physical segment, which began with running around the pitch, along with some light ball exercises.
After that, the players engaged in a technical segment that focused on specific tactics as part of the preparations for the upcoming match against the Djiboutian champions.
Zamalek will host AS Port of Djibouti at 8 PM next Saturday at Cairo International Stadium in the second leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
It is worth mentioning that the first leg, held last Friday at Cairo Stadium, ended with Zamalek winning 2-1.
