The minister has encouraged the Ghana Football Association to consider prolonging the Portuguese coach's tenure, following what he deemed a commendable performance in the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign. “We should allow Carlos Queiroz the chance to stay on. He has shown that a coach plays a significant role,” Kofi Adams remarked on 3FM. Queiroz took over the reins of the Black Stars on April 13, 2026, succeeding Otto Addo after Ghana suffered friendly losses to Austria and Germany. Despite stepping into the role just weeks ahead of the World Cup, the 73-year-old successfully navigated the team through a tough Group L journey. Ghana kicked off the tournament with a 1-0 victory over Panama and followed it up with a goalless draw against England.
