The seasoned Portuguese manager was brought in on a temporary basis following the dismissal of previous coach Otto Addo. Despite Ghana's exit in the Round of 32, there were expectations that Queiroz would step down from his position. However, recent reports suggest that the 73-year-old has been proposed a two-year extension to stay on as the head coach of the Black Stars. In a conversation with TV3 regarding this situation, Maxwell Konadu has endorsed Carlos Queiroz, contending that the coach can enhance the discipline within the team if he continues in his role. The former Kotoko coach believes that this aspect is crucial for the improvement of the Black Stars. "We have seen what he is capable of. Perhaps if he remains for a while, our team will get better. For me, discipline needs to strengthen within the squad, and that is exactly what we require for the Black Stars at this moment. When discipline is present, the team performs well," Maxwell Konadu stated. Meanwhile, reports suggest that if Carlos Queiroz accepts the new two-year agreement, he will be expected to lead Ghana to victory in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
