Carlos Queiroz is not merely looking for a job; he is confident that Ghana has the potential to reach greater heights, according to Kofi Adams.

The head coach of the Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz, is not simply looking for a job in Ghana; he is truly motivated by the country’s wealth of football talent, as revealed by Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams. In an interview with Joy News, as discussions for a long-term contract extension commence for the experienced Portuguese coach, Adams highlighted that Queiroz's ambitions go well beyond merely finding a coaching position. The Minister noted that the former Real Madrid and Manchester United manager firmly believes in the untapped potential of the Ghanaian players he has witnessed during his brief stint. "We will have a more in-depth conversation, but I believe he recognizes the talent in Ghana," Adams remarked. "He’s not overly focused on a job opportunity; instead, he senses there is significant talent in the country. I see a manager, a coach who, after more than 40 years in coaching and the experience he has gathered, feels there is something special here that, if given the chance, he could achieve remarkable results with us." The push for a permanent role comes after Queiroz’s commendable performance in guiding the team through the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Despite limited preparation, his defensive strategy led Ghana past the group stage for the first time since 2010, achieving a 1-0 victory over Panama, a 0-0 stalemate with England, and a 2-1 defeat to Croatia, before a narrow 1-0 exit against Colombia in the Round of 32.
