Chabab de Saoura exits CAF Champions League in preliminary round
Chabab de Saoura has been eliminated from the CAF Champions League in the first preliminary round after losing 3-1 to Guinea's Horoya AC in the second leg.
Elías Faïsal Hadjous scored the only goal for Chabab de Saoura in the 56th minute, but it was not enough to secure the team's advancement to the second preliminary round.
The "Southern Eagles" had won the first leg held at Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran, with a score of 1-0, resulting in their elimination on aggregate (3-2).
This exit marks another disappointment for Chabab de Saoura on the African stage, having previously exited the CAF Champions League group stage in 2019 and being eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup group stage in 2022. Now, their journey ends again at the first preliminary round of the Champions League in 2026.
Thus, Chabab de Saoura's continental adventure comes to an early end, as the team had hoped for a better start and to progress further in the CAF Champions League.
