African Karate Championship: Men's National Team Advances to Kata Final
The men's national team has secured a spot in the team final of the kata competition at the African Karate Championship, taking place in Algiers from September 9 to 13.
Algeria's qualification came thanks to the outstanding performance of the trio of Louay Mohamed Lousif, Sakour Salah Eddine, and Saber Ben Makhlouf, who successfully reached the final stage, ensuring their chance to compete for the gold medal.
All hopes are pinned on the "Greens" trio to defend the African title on the final day of the championship, which includes team competitions in both kata and kumite.
The "Algiers 2026" tournament is a crucial step towards qualifying for the World Karate Championship, scheduled to take place in Hangzhou, China, from November 20 to 22, 2026.
