Division One League: Accra Lions U19 embark on European tour with a trip to Germany

As the pinnacle of the preseason, an Accra Lions U19 team will set off on a three-week tour through Germany and Sweden, commencing on 9 July. The trip will kick off with a visit to our partner club, Eintracht Frankfurt. Since the partnership began in April 2025, the close cooperation between the two clubs has been characterized mainly by the sharing of expertise, with Eintracht Frankfurt frequently dispatching technical and medical professionals to Accra. Their assistance has provided our club with essential insights and has played a significant role in enhancing our sporting and medical divisions. This reciprocal visit, which includes our U19 squad and coaching staff, will concentrate on elite sporting competition, performance assessments, and further solidifying the bond between both clubs. The highlights of our time in Germany will include two friendly matches against Eintracht Frankfurt’s U19 and U21 teams. After spending more than two weeks in Germany, the Accra Lions delegation will proceed to Sweden, where additional friendly matches are planned against reputable clubs like IFK Norrköping and IK Sirius. This European tour is not only a crucial aspect of our preparations for the forthcoming Division One League season but also underscores our club's dedication to offering our young players valuable international exposure and advancing their development.
