The Egyptian men's and women's karate teams achieved a remarkable feat during the African Championship held in Algeria, as they secured a total of 11 medals, including 6 golds, 3 silvers, and 2 bronzes.
Gold Medalists at the Championship
The gold medals were won by Mostafa Refaat in the men's individual kata, Jana Khamis in the women's individual kata, while Taha Tarek clinched gold in the men's kumite over 84 kg, and Abdullah Hisham took gold in the men's kumite under 75 kg.
In the women's category, Mona Shaaban won the gold medal in the kumite over 68 kg, while Norsin Ali secured gold in the kumite under 61 kg.
Silver Medalists
As for the silver medals, Youssef Badawy finished second in the men's kumite under 84 kg, while Ahlam Hamdi earned silver in the women's kumite under 55 kg, and Reem Ahmed took silver in the women's kumite under 50 kg.
Mohamed Ashraf managed to secure a bronze medal in the men's kumite under 67 kg, while Yasmin Magdy added a bronze in the women's kumite under 68 kg.
The Egyptian champions continue to shine in the tournament, confirming the strength of Egyptian karate and its ability to compete fiercely on the continental podiums.
