Algeria: The FAF takes the lead for Mezian Mesloub!

The Algerian Football Federation does not want to let slip one of the most promising young talents in European football. As his name has recently gained prominence on the continental stage, the case of Meziane Mesloub is now reportedly in the hands of Algerian officials. A crucial meeting could soon influence his international future.

According to information from WinWin, the FAF recently contacted Walid Mesloub, former Algerian international and father of young Meziane Mesloub, to discuss the possibility of his son wearing the national team jersey one day. The talks reportedly included a potential change of sporting nationality.

At just 16 years old, the young player from RC Lens is already attracting all the attention. His impressive debut in the Champions League against Slavia Prague certainly did not go unnoticed. Coming on in the 60th minute, the young talent contributed decisively to his team's spectacular comeback, playing a key role in the equalizer. This performance further highlighted a player who had already found the net during his first appearance with the first team last year.

However, his international future remains uncertain. Born in France to an Algerian father and a Portuguese mother, Meziane Mesloub currently represents Portugal at youth levels. He is, however, eligible for Algeria, as well as France.

The FAF seems eager to act quickly. According to WinWin, the new national coach, Brahim Hemdani, is expected to meet with the player and his family after the next international window. The goal would be to present him with the new sporting project of the Algerian national team and the role he could potentially play in the future.

This meeting could thus represent a decisive turning point. After the emergence of several young dual nationals in recent years, Algeria now hopes to convince another gem to definitively choose the colors of the Greens.
