The athletics team secured 29 diverse medals at the Arab Championship held in Cairo for under-18 athletes, ensuring first place with a 13-medal lead over Morocco, which finished second.
The Arab Championship Reveals Talents Worth Supporting
For his part, Major Hatem Fouda, President of the Egyptian Athletics Federation and Chairman of the Arab Championship's Higher Committee, stated that the success of the championship is not measured solely by the number of medals Egypt won, but by the new talents showcased during the competitions that deserve attention and support. He added that Egypt's leading position in the Arab scene is a positive indicator of the efforts made in the athletics system, noting that the real goal is to nurture these champions and develop their skills, rather than being satisfied with what has been achieved at the youth level.
Fouda explained that the championship featured strong competitions and outstanding technical skills, and that the interaction among Arab athletes was beneficial for all teams, especially since young athletes need to participate in such championships to gain experience in major competitions and learn how to handle race pressure, challenges, and competition.
