Slimani: "Let Hamdani and Antar Yahia work... They will learn quickly"
Algeria's all-time top scorer Islam Slimani expressed optimism about the new coaching duo Ibrahim Hamdani and Antar Yahia.
In a lengthy interview with French outlet “L'Équipe” on Thursday, Slimani urged everyone to give them time and trust to allow them to work.
He said: “It is essential to let them work and give them confidence... They know Algeria and its African environment, and they have worn the national team jersey, which is a positive thing.”
He added: “Except for Vahid Halilhodžić, our successes have come with coaches from Algeria.”
Slimani continued, defending the new duo: “I hear people say they lack experience, but they will learn quickly... They will take us to the Africa Cup of Nations, and then we will see if they can lead this new generation to progress.”
