A source in the Egypt national team: The legal aspects of the Football Association will handle the appeal against the penalties for the twins and Zico.

A source from the Egypt national team revealed that Hani Abou Rida, the head of the Egyptian Football Association, is personally overseeing the appeal against the penalty imposed by FIFA on the twin brothers Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the national team, Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, and Mustafa Ziko.

The source confirmed that Hossam Hassan has not intervened in this matter at all, and everything being circulated about this issue is completely untrue. He has left the matter entirely to the Football Association and the legal affairs department, just as it was initially when FIFA requested details regarding the events that took place during the match against Argentina.

The Egyptian Football Association received the decisions from FIFA's Disciplinary Committee concerning Hossam Hassan, the national team coach, Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, and player Mustafa Ziko. The decisions included a three-match suspension for both Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, and a five-match suspension for player Mustafa Ziko, following the incident during the Argentina match in the 2026 World Cup.

The Egypt national team, led by Hossam Hassan, will face Malawi on November 13 and 17 in the third and fourth rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers.

The matches will take place after the start of winter time in Egypt, which begins on Friday, October 30.
