Abdel Rahim Taleb: Amouta has two sides to his personality as a coach, and he is likely to achieve 99% success with Al Ahly.
Moroccan coach Abdel Rahim Taleb, the head of the Rwandan army team, spoke about his compatriot Hussein Ammouta, the coach of Al Ahly, predicting a success rate of over 99% for him.
Taleb said in statements during the "Captain" program with Ahmed Hassan, broadcast on dmc: "Hussein Ammouta was my colleague in the CAF Pro program for 4 years, in addition to the many years we spent together in the Moroccan league and our collaboration in Qatar."
He added: "Ammouta is my friend; he was a player and I worked as a coach. We studied together for 4 years and were in Morocco. I know him well as a friend, and he has two different personalities; he is a very nice person, and I'm not defending him, but he is extremely strict."
Taleb continued: "On the pitch, he is another person, very strict, and players must play with the passion he wants and respect the style of play he sets. Players need to understand this so that chaos does not prevail on the field."
He added: "There may be some people who do not prefer Ammouta leading Al Ahly, and this could be the reason for the recent problems, but Ammouta is a great coach, and I expect him to succeed with Al Ahly with a 99% probability."
Taleb revealed his team's preparations for the upcoming match against Zamalek in the Round of 32 of the CAF Champions League, confirming that the match will not be difficult given the value and history of the white team.
He added: "Ismaily is a big club, and playing without fans is like eating without salt. We were all players, and without fans, the game has no flavor."
Taleb said: "I am used to the atmosphere of the fans. I coached Wydad for 9 years, and in 2023 with Ittihad Tanger, we played against Zamalek and lost 1-0 in Cairo. Honestly, the fans do not affect me; I focus on the opponent, and I am ready for the upcoming match. We have played against Al Ahly, Zamalek, Wydad, and all the big clubs."
He added: "The Zamalek match is not easy, and there are no specific criteria. Zamalek is Zamalek with its culture and size. They have problems attracting new players; Zamalek is not the team it once was, but it is at the top of the league. It remains Zamalek, and I congratulate Moataz Gamal on his success despite the circumstances."
Taleb continued: "I liked Zamalek as a group, not as individuals. They achieve victory with difficulty, and every team facing Al Ahly or Zamalek relies on defense. Zamalek won their last match with a penalty in the dying moments. My problem is that I study Zamalek as a collective, not as individuals."
He concluded: "The first leg will be in Rwanda on October 17, with the return in Cairo, but we have not received anything official yet, and CAF has not contacted us so far. There is a 90% chance we will play the match in our country, God willing."
