Aql added, during his analysis of the refereeing performance after the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League, that in the match between Al Ahly and Abu Qir Fertilizers, the focus was on the ability of the officiating team led by Mohamed El Ghazi to manage the game calmly and control key decisions, especially in tackles and impactful technical decisions. He noted that El Ghazi needs to be more decisive in handling player and coaching staff objections.
On the other hand, the match between Zamalek and Ghazl El Mahalla, which ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for the White Castle from a legitimate penalty, was more thrilling, as Ghazl El Mahalla dominated the match from the start. This made it one of the encounters that required high refereeing concentration, given the importance of every point in the title race, despite the fact that referee Basyouni overlooked a red card for the Mahalla defender, even though the penalty decision was correct according to the law.
The promising referee Mohamed Ibrahim managed the match between Pyramids and Eastern Company (Enppi) well, maintaining control throughout the game. His performance showcased good physical fitness, focus, and exceptional technical presence during the match, which ended with Pyramids winning 2-1, allowing them to finish the round at the top of the league table, while Zamalek came in second and Al Ahly in third on goal difference. The match featured several impactful and exciting refereeing moments that referee Ibrahim Mohamed successfully handled.
