The Algerian duo of Al Shamal secured a victory against Saudi club Al Hilal during the third round of the AFC Champions League.

After an opening goal from Wesley Saïd and an equalizer from Saudi star Salem Al Dawsari in the first half, Riyad Mahrez proved to be decisive in the second half.

In the 48th minute, Mahrez penetrated down the right flank before making a backward pass to Brazilian Thiago Silva, who returned the ball to him. The Algerian then crossed, and his compatriot Bounedjah was well-positioned to finish and restore his team's lead!

Six minutes later, from a free kick on the right, Riyad Mahrez sent a high ball that sailed over the entire opposing defense. Tunisian Mohamed Ali Ben Rhomadane appeared at the back post and scored with a light touch of his foot to double the advantage! (54th).

With this 3-1 victory, Al Shamal closes in to within one point of their opponent, who suffered their first defeat in this competition and only their second of the season.
