African Super Cup: Ben Ghait and Ramdani Race Against Time!

CR Belouizdad continues its preparations in South Africa ahead of the eagerly awaited African Super Cup match against Mamelodi Sundowns next Sunday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, starting at 14:00 Algeria time.

The Algerian representatives enter this continental final missing several players due to injury, while coach Lamine Ndiaye has regained the services of midfielder Raouf Ben Ghait. Right winger Hossam Ghaicha will miss the match as he is currently receiving treatment for a knee injury at Aspetar in Doha, along with left winger Mohamed Bouderbala, who is suffering from a sprained left ankle.

On the other hand, midfielder Raouf Ben Ghait will be available for the coaching staff after missing the last match against CS Constantine, providing Ndiaye with an additional option in midfield.

Meanwhile, striker and top scorer Mohamed Ramdani is still under the care of the medical team as they work to prepare him after suffering a muscle strain in his right thigh, with hopes of having him ready before the final due to his importance in the attack.

The CR Belouizdad delegation arrived in South Africa in the early hours of Wednesday and participated in a recovery training session on the same day, with coach Lamine Ndiaye planning to use the remaining days to focus on physical and tactical aspects and finalize the lineup he will rely on against the South African champions.

The red and black club, which won the CAF Confederation Cup last season against Egyptian club Zamalek, aims to add another continental title to its collection, increasing its tally to four continental titles in its history, having previously won the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2022-2023 season against Young Africans of Tanzania, then the African Super Cup against Al Ahly of Egypt, before claiming the CAF Confederation Cup again last season against Zamalek.
