Al-Ahmadi expresses his opinion on Tergaline's performance.

Former Moroccan international Kareem El Ahmadi highlighted the performance of his compatriot Osama Tergaline with Dutch club Feyenoord, noting that he shines best when Charles Verhoeven is alongside him in midfield.

El Ahmadi, who works as a sports analyst for ESPN, confirmed that Tergaline's roles on the pitch make it essential to have another player next to him, especially since the Moroccan tends to drift from his position and move outside the area he occupies in midfield.

The former Moroccan player explained that Tergaline may face challenges when asked to be the sole holding midfielder, given the heavy responsibilities that come with this role, both in terms of coverage and organizing play.

In contrast, having Verhoeven alongside Tergaline provides greater balance in midfield, allowing the Moroccan player to move freely and perform his duties without bearing all the defensive and organizational burdens alone.

El Ahmadi also pointed out that this balance not only benefits Tergaline but also assists the players positioned ahead of the midfield duo by providing additional options in building attacks and moving the ball into offensive areas.

El Ahmadi concluded by affirming that the partnership between Tergaline and Verhoeven is more suited to the Moroccan player's characteristics, as it gives him space to maneuver and makes him feel more comfortable within Feyenoord's system, helping him showcase his technical skills more effectively.

It is worth mentioning that Osama Tergaline has been called up by national coach Mohamed Wahbi to participate in the upcoming matches against Gabon and Lesotho in the first and second rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as well as a friendly match with the Ghanaian national team.
