Nail El Aynaoui: I Play Where the Team Needs Me
Moroccan international Nail El Aynaoui expressed his happiness with the start he has made at RB Leipzig, having played a key role in the three matches since his arrival, emphasizing the importance of the significant victory over Hamburg by five goals to nil.
El Aynaoui stated in an interview with his club's official website: “I am happy not only with the result but also with the team's performance,” adding, “It was very important for us to show a reaction,” referring to the team's desire to bounce back after the loss to Como.
El Aynaoui, who has played in various midfield positions, clarified that he is ready to take on any role the team requires, saying: “I can play in both positions, and I will always be where the team needs me,” adding about his physical strength: “Moroccans generally run a lot, so I believe this is in my blood.”
The Moroccan international confirmed that he also wants to contribute to the attacking side, not just focus on defensive duties, saying: “I also try to involve my teammates in the play.”
El Aynaoui discussed his experiences in the French, Italian, and German leagues, explaining the differences in playing styles among them, stating: “The Bundesliga leans more towards attacking play, while Serie A tends to be more defensive... goals are fewer, and matches tend to be closer... as for Ligue 1, it is a bit of a mix between the two.”
The RB Leipzig player also expressed his comfort with the atmosphere in his new team, saying: “Everyone has made me feel very welcome... the team and the coach have made my adaptation here much easier,” noting that his knowledge of French, Spanish, and other languages has helped him communicate with his teammates.
El Aynaoui is preparing for a new challenge with Leipzig against Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, in a match he expects to be tough, stating: “We know it will be a real battle.”
