The Algerian national under-19 badminton team concluded its participation in the African Championship held in Egypt, topping the overall standings with impressive results, securing 8 medals, including three golds, two silvers, and two bronzes, reflecting the growing strength of Algerian badminton on the continental level.
The three gold medals were achieved by Dawood Ayoub Rayan in the men's singles event, along with his victory with Osama Kaddou in the men's doubles, while the third gold went to the duo of Osama Kaddou and Shiraz Halimi in the mixed doubles.
In the men's singles competition, Osama Kaddou added a silver medal, while the Algerian national team secured another silver in the team event, enhancing its tally in this continental event.
The two bronze medals were won by Shiraz Halimi in the women's singles and Sidali Saidani and Rayan Boufnech in the men's doubles.
Notably, 15-year-old Shiraz Halimi shone by combining her gold in the mixed doubles with Osama Kaddou and her bronze in the singles, in a championship where she established her presence among the top emerging Algerian talents.
