Algeria U20: No participation in the Africa U20 Cup of Nations...

Qualification was a significant challenge, but it was not achieved. Algeria's U20 team will not participate in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
After a 1-1 draw against Tunisia, a 3-1 victory over Libya, and a 3-0 defeat to Morocco, the Algerians needed to win against Egypt, the host country of the UNAF tournament, to have any hope of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Unfortunately, that did not happen. Mahmoud Salah opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the first half with a header from a corner, surprising goalkeeper El Koubi, as the Algerian marking, particularly that of Niou, was poorly executed.
In the second half, Anas Ibrahim doubled the lead in the 82nd minute, following a well-executed team play and a deflected shot, he recovered the ball and left Algerian defender Sofitikis behind with a feint before beating El Koubi, who poorly closed his angle.
With this 2-0 defeat, the Greens finish third out of five with four points. Algeria will miss the African rendezvous for the seventh consecutive time. Their last participation was in 2013, as the host country, where the Greens finished last in their group...
