Algeria U23: Ben Idder, a bright prospect for the future! (video)

Absent from Saïfi's initial list, Abdelhak Ben Idder has become a key player in the U23 coach's setup.
Promoted to captain, this 19-year-old central defender is one of the youngest members of the U23 squad, but his technical skills and game vision undeniably make him an asset for the future of Algerian football.
The name of this talent, who has been trained at Paradou since the age of 12, only gained real recognition this summer, with his unexpected transfer to OGC Nice for 300,000 euros.
However, he has represented all age groups, starting from the U17s, with whom he participated in the African Cup of Nations in Algeria in 2023, under the guidance of Rezki Remmane, who made him a starter.
It was only last season that he made his senior debut with Paradou, primarily as a central defender. He has also played as a right-back but defensive midfielder seems to suit him perfectly.
During the two friendly matches played in South Africa, he first played alongside Gaëtan Bakhouche (former Toulouse), then with Issam Naim (ES Sétif), with whom he appeared more comfortable.
Yesterday, he showcased all his qualities with the ball he handles with his right foot. He displayed great control to anticipate opponents' reactions, making forward runs and delivering precise cross-field passes.
Abdelhak Ben Idder in many ways resembles young Ramy Bensebaini, who left Paradou at the same age to join Lierse in Belgium. If he continues on this path, he could quickly secure a place in the senior national team.
