The Algerian women's national football team now knows its opponent for the third round of the African qualifiers for the Olympic Tournament of the Los Angeles 2028 Games, scheduled between February 23 and March 6, 2027, as announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The players, led by Farid Benstiti, will face their counterparts from Burkina Faso. The first leg will take place in Algeria, on a date to be confirmed later, while the return leg will be held a few days later in a city in Burkina Faso.
Burkina Faso eliminated Equatorial Guinea in the previous round, winning 3-1 away before drawing 1-1 in the return match.
The Algerian women's national team secured its place in the third round by crushing its Central African opponent in both matches played in Algeria (8-0 and 7-0).
