Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, the head of the first team at Al Ahly, has decided to promote duo Ahmed El Sheikh and Mustafa Bahjat, players from the youth team, to train with the first team in the upcoming period. This move is part of the technical staff's policy to provide opportunities for young talents and explore their technical and physical abilities.
Ammouta's decision came in coordination with Wael Gomaa, the director of football, and the youth sector overseen by Mohamed Youssef and Dutch coach Nick Hak, due to their belief in the skills and abilities of the duo, as well as their capacity to play in multiple positions.

Ahmed El Sheikh is known for his ability to play in several attacking positions, whether as a playmaker, right winger, or left winger, in addition to his tactical flexibility and high technical and physical skills. Meanwhile, Mustafa Bahjat excels in wing and midfield positions, providing the coaching staff with additional options in the upcoming period.
The promotion of the duo comes amid the absence of several first-team players due to their commitments with national teams, as four Al Ahly players—Mohamed Abdullah, Ahmed Khaled Kabaka, Ahmed Raafat, and Omar Sayed Mawad—have joined the Olympic team, along with several first-team players who have been called up to the national team. This has allowed the coaching staff to give some young talents a chance.
Ahmed El Sheikh and Mustafa Bahjat are expected to participate in the two friendly matches that Al Ahly will play against Libyan side Al Ittihad Misrati and Misr Al-Maqassa, as part of the team's preparation program during the international break, to assess their performance against first-team players.
The promotion of the duo is part of Ammouta's plan to monitor the available talents in the youth sector, especially players who possess the technical skills that qualify them for a chance with the first team, while the evaluation process continues before any decisions are made regarding their future with the coaching staff.
