Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta is considering using Mohamed Hani as a right-back in the defense during the upcoming period. This comes as part of the coach's efforts to identify the best players for the defense, given the issues plaguing the red team's backline ahead of the league's suspension.
Complications in Mohamed Hani's Contract Renewal Negotiations with Ahly
Ammouta's interest in utilizing Hani in defense comes despite the complications surrounding the player's contract renewal negotiations with the club recently. The Ahly coaching staff faces a tough challenge ahead of the anticipated match against Zamalek on October 11, due to the uncertainty surrounding the team's defense. Yasser Ibrahim's chances of participating in the match have diminished due to an ankle sprain, and he is still undergoing a rehabilitation program to recover and return to team training, placing the coaching staff in a difficult position given the importance and sensitivity of the match.
Additionally, Ammouta has not yet reached the desired level of satisfaction with the defensive pairing of Hadi Riyad and Yassin Marai, prompting him to search for alternatives that would provide Ahly's defense with more stability and experience.
The head coach is also considering involving Moroccan Achraf Dari in the match against Petrojet, scheduled for next Wednesday in the Cairo Capital Cup, to prepare him physically and technically for the clash against Zamalek. This follows Ammouta's decision to field his compatriot Achraf Dari in a friendly match against Misr El Makasa last Friday, which ended in a 3-0 victory for Ahly.
