Dr. Mohamed Fadlallah, an expert in sports regulations and laws, explained the possibility of Ramadan Sobhi, a player for Pyramids FC, appealing to the European Court of Human Rights after the Swiss Federal Court rejected his appeal and upheld his 4-year suspension due to a doping case.
Fadlallah noted on his personal Facebook account that Ramadan Sobhi can appeal the Federal Court's decision to the European Court of Human Rights, provided he has clearly asserted his right to a fair trial before the Federal Court, in accordance with Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
The regulations expert also clarified that one of the essential requirements is to exhaust all internal appeal options, according to Article 35 of the Convention, emphasizing that the European Court does not accept appeals on points that were not originally raised before the Swiss judiciary.
