Anis Hadj Moussa: "It's always mentally painful."

Named Player of the Month in the Eredivisie, Anis Hadj Moussa discussed the tumultuous weeks surrounding his failed transfer while sharing how he managed the situation within the Feyenoord dressing room.
Anis Hadj Moussa clarified the situation. Named Player of the Month for September in the Eredivisie after scoring four goals in just two matches, the Algerian international revisited the tumultuous episode of his unsuccessful transfer to Al-Ittihad. This period notably led to his exclusion from the squad for the match against NEC Nijmegen.
When asked about the disappointment caused by the failed departure, the Feyenoord winger did not downplay it. “In the mind, it’s always painful, it hurts for a player. But once it’s over, everything is fine. I’m here, I’m giving 100%. At the moment, yes, it can hurt, but afterwards, once it’s behind, it’s finished,” he stated, affirming that he has definitely turned the page.
Hadj Moussa also confirmed that he spoke in front of the entire group after the incident. “Yes, here at the training center, I spoke in front of everyone to apologize for what happened. It’s completely normal, and afterwards, everything became normal,” he revealed. A gesture that seems to have helped close this chapter internally.
And his reaction on the pitch was immediate. Since the start of the season, the Algerian has recorded 6 Eredivisie matches, 5 goals, and 1 assist in 524 minutes. He notably achieved two consecutive doubles against PEC Zwolle and Utrecht in September, with four shots on target resulting in four goals in those two matches. These performances earned him the title of Player of the Month in the Dutch league for the second time in his career.
