France: Boudaoui closes in on assist of the year! (Video)

Back on the pitch with Nice, Hicham Boudaoui quickly made an impression during the match against Strasbourg. The Algerian international notably executed a stunning backheel that could have led to one of the most memorable assists of the season.
Hicham Boudaoui was not expected to enter the game so early against Strasbourg. Initially a substitute, the Algerian international was called to the field in the 37th minute after Djibril Coulibaly, who seemed to be struggling, had to leave the pitch. This was an unexpected entry for Boudaoui, who thus regained significant playing time with Nice.
The Algerian midfielder had not really had the opportunity to play regularly for several weeks and had not been selected by Brahim Hemdani for the last Algeria squad. Against Strasbourg, he quickly found his rhythm and was very dynamic in the Nice midfield.
The key moment of his evening will remain this brilliant inspiration. With his back to goal, off balance near the box, Boudaoui executed a superb backheel to outsmart the defense and set up Jonathan Clauss for a direct shot on goal. Unfortunately, the French full-back failed to convert the chance. Had he succeeded, the Algerian's gesture would surely have been one of the most impressive assists of the season so far.
Another Algerian international in the Nice lineup, Mohamed Amoura played the entire match, totaling 90 minutes. Nice ultimately won the match 2-1.
