Athletics: Djamel Sedjati shines again and wins a gold medal!

Djamel Sedjati has once again made his mark on the international stage. The Algerian athlete delivered a high-caliber final in Budapest, facing several world-class competitors in the 800 meters, allowing him to claim the title at the inaugural Ultimate Championship.

The Algerian middle-distance specialist continues to enhance his impressive resume. This Sunday in Budapest, Djamel Sedjati triumphed in the 800 meters final of the Ultimate Championship, a new competition that brings together the global elite of athletics.

Faced with top-tier competitors such as Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi from Kenya, Marco Arop from Canada, and Brandon Miller from the United States, the Algerian rose to the occasion in a particularly demanding race.

Sedjati crossed the finish line in 1 min 41 sec 91, ahead of Marco Arop, who finished second in 1:42.28, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi, who took third place in 1:42.44. Brandon Miller finished just outside the podium with a time of 1:42.54.

The Algerian's victory also holds special significance as it allows him to avenge Wanyonyi. The Kenyan had denied Sedjati the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In Budapest, the Algerian representative overcame him this time with a particularly impressive finish.

After controlling his pace for much of the race, Sedjati accelerated in the final meters to catch up with Marco Arop, who was in a strong position, before surpassing him and taking the lead.

This latest performance confirms the excellent momentum of the Algerian champion. Just days after his title in the 800 meters at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto on August 31, Sedjati adds another gold medal to his collection.
