Belghali uncertain ahead of the national team's next call-up

As the national team gathering approaches, Rafik Belghali finds himself in a pressing situation. Injured in the knee during his last match with Torino, the right-back may be forced to miss his team's upcoming fixture to fully recover.
The coaching staff of the Greens will likely have to wait before knowing the exact situation of the player. He left the match against Frosinone prematurely last weekend after feeling knee pain, and Rafik Belghali is now awaiting the evolution of his condition in the coming days.
The first news from Italy seems rather optimistic. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the tests reportedly showed a simple bruise, with no serious injury. This is encouraging information, although the Piedmont club prefers not to take any risks with their player.
“We are only at the beginning of the week, so caution is advised, but according to initial impressions, there are no excessive concerns from the Granata side,” reports the Italian media.
The Torino player is thus expected to be rested for the match against Lecce, scheduled for Saturday at 15:00. The Italian club would like to grant him a few extra days of rest, hoping to recover him quickly and avoid any aggravation of his injury.
This precaution comes at a crucial time for the Algerian international. The next gathering of the Greens will begin on Monday, with two matches against Togo on the agenda.
The national staff will therefore wait to know precisely how his physical condition evolves before making a decision regarding his selection.
Belghali had already missed the last training camp, which took place from September 21 to October 6, due to a two-match suspension by CAF. His return was anticipated, but this knee incident now raises uncertainties.
The coming days should bring more clarity regarding his availability.
