The Algerian U15 national team recorded their third consecutive victory at the FIFA U15 Festival 2026, dominating Chinese Taipei 5-0 on Sunday in Baku, Azerbaijan. After defeating Argentina 1-0 and then thrashing Suriname 5-0, Karim Ziani's players continue their flawless run, showcasing their ambitions in this international competition.

This latest performance allows the young Greens to strengthen their position at the top of Group B. With nine points from three matches, Algeria shares the same total as Malawi but leads the group due to a significantly superior goal difference. The Algerians have scored eleven goals without conceding, boasting a difference of +11 compared to +5 for the Malawians.

Meharzi, the key player for the young Greens

Abdelkarim Meharzi stands out as one of the key players in this tournament's early stages. Already a scorer against Argentina with the only goal of the match, the young forward then netted a brace against Suriname. He continued his scoring streak in Algeria's third match, bringing his total to seven goals in three matches.

Behind Algeria and Malawi, Argentina sits in third place with six points, followed by Oman, fourth with three points. Chinese Taipei and Suriname bring up the rear without a single point after three consecutive defeats.

The Greens are already assured of playing at Level A

Beyond this impeccable run, the standings also indicate a significant milestone for the Algerian team. By finishing at the top of their group, they qualify for Level A of the tournament's second phase, which includes the highest-ranked teams from the initial stage.

The young Algerians will now face Malawi and Oman on Monday, aiming to extend their winning streak. Held from October 24 to 30 in Azerbaijan, the FIFA U15 Festival features an eight-team format and aims to increase international matchups for young talents. For the Greens, the goal will be to maintain this momentum and demonstrate their potential against stronger opposition.
