After an almost perfect group stage, the Algeria U15 team led by Karim Ziani failed to maintain their level in the knockout matches.

For reference, the teammates of captain Meharzi went on to win their first four matches, including their opening match against Argentina with a score of 1-0, before stumbling against Oman, ultimately managing a 3-3 draw.

This did not affect them, as the Greens finished at the top of Group B, allowing them to advance to the final A bracket, which includes the 32 best teams in the competition.

However, our young players faced Guinea in the Round of 16, losing on penalties after a 0-0 draw (penalties 4-2). Unable to contend for the title or a place in the semifinals, they were left to aim for a 17th place in the classification matches.

Unfortunately, the Algerians lost 4-1 to Albania, won 2-1 against Estonia, before suffering two consecutive defeats 4-3 against Kenya and then 4-1 against Northern Ireland. Thus, Algeria finishes 28th out of 189 participants.

The final of the World Cup will take place this afternoon between Spain and the Czech Republic. Guinea, which eliminated the Greens, finishes as the best African team (6th), ahead of Ghana (7th), Morocco (13th), and Egypt (14th), as well as Cameroon (23rd) and Kenya (26th).
