Traveling across the continent, AS Maniema Union arrived in Luanda late Friday night into Saturday to begin a crucial phase of their African campaign. The Unionists will face Angolan side Kabuscorp SC this Sunday, October 18, 2026, in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. The goal is clear for the Kindu club: to secure a positive result in Angola to approach the return match in the best possible conditions.
Before boarding their flight from Kinshasa, the Maniema Union delegation received precise and motivating instructions from their management. The club's vice president, Guy Kapya, sent a message to the players and coaching staff to provide ambitious guidance: to meet the club's expectations and proudly represent Congolese football in this continental encounter.
Now on Angolan soil, the coaching staff is making final tactical adjustments before immersing themselves in the atmosphere of the Luanda stadium. Focused and aware of the match's importance, the Unionists aim to impose their style of play to instill doubt in Kabuscorp SC from the opening whistle and to proudly carry the colors of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
