Nayef Aguerd is now officially ruled out for Morocco's trip to South Africa, where the Atlas Lions will face Lesotho in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The key defender did not join the rest of the team. He remains in Morocco and continues his rehabilitation program at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora. This individual recovery protocol is being supervised on-site by the technical staff of the U23 national team.
This absence is a significant blow for coach Mohamed Ouahbi, who will need to adjust his central defense. Aguerd's goal is to return to competition in the best physical condition possible.
