Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente, head of the Spanish national football team, received the award for Best Men's Coach in the World for 2026 during the Ballon d'Or ceremony organized by French magazine "France Football" in London.

De la Fuente's victory came after leading the Spanish team to win the 2026 World Cup, held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, securing the global title for the second time in its history.

The Spanish coach outperformed four other candidates for the award, including compatriot Luis Enrique, coach of French club Paris Saint-Germain, Mikel Arteta, coach of English club Arsenal, Unai Emery, coach of English club Aston Villa, and Belgian Vincent Kompany, coach of German club Bayern Munich.

De la Fuente accepted the award, succeeding compatriot Luis Enrique, and took to the stage to receive the award after embracing fellow Spaniard Lamine Yamal, star of Barcelona and the Spanish national team.
