Rahimi Leads Al Ain to Victory Over Tractor
Moroccan forward Hussein Rahimi guided his team Al Ain to a 2-1 victory over Iranian side Tractor in a match held on Monday at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, as part of the third round of the West Zone in the AFC Champions League.
Egyptian defender Rami Rabia opened the scoring for Al Ain in the 21st minute, before the Iranian team equalized through Tibor Khalilovic in the 55th minute. In the 70th minute, Rahimi added the winning goal, securing three additional points for his team.
With this goal, the Moroccan forward raised his tally to five goals in the current Asian tournament, continuing his impressive form with the Emirati team and contributing to their third consecutive victory.
With this win, Al Ain increased their points to nine, topping the West Zone standings with a perfect record, following previous victories over Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr and Iraq's Al Quwa Al Jawiya in the last two rounds.
On the other hand, Tractor remains stuck at one point in twelfth place, after losing to UAE's Shabab Al Ahli and drawing with Qatar's Al Shamal in the previous two rounds.
Al Ain will face Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad in Jeddah in the fourth round, scheduled for November 2 and 3, while Tractor will host Uzbekistan's Navbahor Namangan.
