Details of negotiations between Al Ahly and Algerian player Achraf Ben Ayad to strengthen the defense in January.
A source at Al Ahly revealed that the club has not finalized an agreement with Algerian international defender Achraf Ben Ayad of CR Belouizdad, as has been rumored recently. The player is considered an option to strengthen the team's defense during the upcoming winter transfer window, but there are other foreign defenders also likely to join the Red Castle in January.
Al Ahly's Efforts to Strengthen Defense
Al Ahly is currently intensifying negotiations to bolster the team's defense during the winter transfer window, following Amr El-Gazzar's injury from a torn ACL, in addition to the decline in form of several players in this position.
Achraf Ben Ayad a Potential Option for Al Ahly
The source explained that Achraf Ben Ayad, who is 27 years old, is among the players being considered for the team due to his high technical skills. He was previously thought of for recruitment, but negotiations did not yield results due to various circumstances.
Two Other Defenders Considered for Al Ahly
The source added that there are defenders from other African countries proposed to strengthen the defense alongside Ben Ayad, and discussions are currently ongoing to choose between them after the club agreed to secure a strong foreign signing for the defense in January.
The football officials at the club are fully coordinating with the coaching staff led by Hussein Ammouta to accurately determine the team's needs and select the players capable of providing the required contributions.
