Just twenty-four hours before their first friendly match against the Cranes of Uganda, the national team of the Democratic Republic of Congo is ramping up its preparations on South African soil. During the training session scheduled for Wednesday in Pretoria, the coach had a well-rounded squad of 20 players, combining regulars and new recruits to strengthen the group.

Among the players present on the field were goalkeepers Mathieu Epolo and Dimitri Bertaud, defenders Chancel Mbemba, Willy Kambwala, and Steve Kapuadi, as well as forwards Théo Bongonda, Samuel Essende, Afimico Pululu, and Stephy Mavididi. According to information relayed by FECOFA, the atmosphere is one of methodical preparation, highlighted by the return of six players who had been rested during the first trial after their starting roles against Zimbabwe.

This first tactical test against the Ugandans will take place in a limited setting. The federation has specified that the match will not be open to the general public, allowing the Leopards' technical staff to assess their options and experiment with new combinations away from prying eyes before the upcoming official fixtures.
