Many officials from the Under-15 World Cup currently taking place in Azerbaijan praised the performance of Egypt's 2011 national team after the impressive display by the players, especially in the preliminary stage, where the Pharaohs won all six matches they played during that phase.
Egypt's participation in the inaugural edition of the FIFA U-15 World Cup concluded with a 14th place finish among 189 teams, making them the second Arab team after Morocco, which finished in 13th place.
The Egyptian team topped their group by winning 6 matches, then advanced past Albania in the Round of 32 before losing in the title race in the Round of 16 to Guinea. They later won against Ecuador in a penalty shootout, and finally lost to Morocco in the match for 13th and 14th place.
The achievements of the young Pharaohs are considered a commendable accomplishment following a distinguished performance in the U-15 World Cup, where our national team displayed strong performances and achieved a series of victories, confirming that Egyptian football has a promising generation of talents capable of achieving further successes in the future. This is especially notable as they finished ahead of larger teams with a long history of talent discovery. Additionally, the loss in the Round of 16 to Guinea was attributed to the clear age difference between the young Pharaohs and the Guinean players, who exhibited signs of youth in terms of physical strength and height.
